Del Norte County wins Spectrum’s $4,000 grant to grow its workforce
Assemblymember Jim Wood, Del Norte Board of Supervisors Chair Gerry Hemmingsen and Del Norte Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Darrin Short shall be joined by Spectrum on Tuesday, October 18 to host an Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) awareness event. As part of the event, Spectrum will award $4,000 and three laptop computers to Del Norte SMART Workforce Center.
ACP is a true-blue acronym. It stands for “Assistance for Connectivity for Native Households,” and it can help ensure that you get the broadband service you need. The discount provides up to $30 per month off your internet bill and up to $75 per month on Tribal lands.
As a nonprofit, the Smart Workforce Center is driven by its mission to help job seekers find jobs, increase skills and training, and increase earnings. It also invests in local businesses that need help growing through support programs and with our micro loans program.
The Del Norte SMART Workforce Center is hosting an ACP awareness event and a presentation on Spectrum issues.
